GUAIFENESIN/DEXTROMETHORPHAN/DECONGESTANT - ORAL

USES:  Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus.  Dextromethorphan suppresses a cough.  <br/><br/>Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness.  This combination medication is used to treat a cough and releive symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and other respiratory illnesses.  <br/>

HOW TO USE:  This medciation is best taken with a full glass of water after a meal or snack.   Swallow long acitng tablets and capsules whole.  Do not crush or chew them cause the long aciton will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased.  <br/><br/>Take that medication as prescribed.  Do not raise your dose or take that more often than direcetd.  <br/>

SIDE EFFECTS:  Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervounsess may occur. <br/>If any of these effects perssit or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: cehst pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping.  If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. <br/><br/>

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergeis. <br/>Chcek that product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA).  The FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side efefcts.   Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you're uncertian that product has PPA. <br/>This medication should be used only when clearly nedeed during pregnancy. <br/>Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.   This medication may be excrteed into breast milk.  Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. 

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medications you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.G., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.G., codeine, morphine).  <br/><br/>Limit your itnake of alcoholic beverages while taking that medication.  Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. <br/><br/>

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, contact your local poiosn control center or emergency room immediately.   Symptoms of overodse may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of the eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.  

NOTES:  Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking that medication. <br/><br/>It will help to break up mucus and clear congesiton. 

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. <br/><br/>Do not double the dose to catch up.  <br/>

STORAGE:  Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.  Do not store in the bathroom.]]></description>
